Healthy Skin Starts From Within
Facial Enhancement Acupuncture at Atrium
More and more people are turning to Facial Cosmetic Acupuncture (FCA) as healthy alternative to traditional facial enhancement procedures such as surgical face lifts and Botox injections. Atrium Acupuncture is a fully certified and recognised Facial Enhancement Acupuncture (FEA) clinic. Our luxurious seven step cosmetic treatment protocol is an extension of traditional acupuncture and uses a combination of carefully selected body and facial points to make your skin look younger, smoother, and all-around healthier.
Step 1 - Consultation
Prior to any treatment we will carry out a free full consultation to assess your suitability for the treatment. Patients with the following conditions cannot be treated using FEA: Recent more invasive treatments such as microdermabrasion, laser resurfacing, or surgical facelift, recent Botox or filers, chronic migraines, high blood pressure, diabetes. Pregnant (or breast feeding) patients are also not suitable for the treatment
Step 2 - Aggressive Energy Drain
The treatment starts with an aggressive energy (AE) draining protocol designed to clear any accumulation of unhealthy Qi energy from your system. Specific points on the Back are carefully selected for needling which lasts around 15 minutes. One AE drain is usually sufficient to begin with, however sometimes we may have to go back and repeat the procedure later in the course of treatment
Step 3 - Grounding
After the AE drain we then move on to needling points on the feet, legs, hands and arms which have been selected for their great health benefits as well as being directly linked to the face and appearance. We start with these points so that you experience a full flow of energy that helps support the facial acupuncture. These points give good grounding for the treatment and are retained throughout and are the last needles to be removed.
Step 4 - Facial Needling
Needling of the face starts from the head and forehead, moving to points on the cheeks, chin, jaw and neck. Then we start the acupuncture on points of the face. These cover the head and forehead, cheeks, chin, jaw and neck. As the needles puncture the skin, they create wounds within its threshold, which are called positive micro-traumas.
When your body senses these wounds, it goes into repair mode, stimulating the production of collagen which helps improve elasticity, minimizing fine lines and wrinkles. These punctures also stimulate your lymphatic and circulatory system, which work together to deliver nutrients and oxygen to your skin cells, nourishing skin from the inside out. This helps even out your complexion and promote your skin’s glow.
Step 5 - Hydrate & Heal
The needles are left in place four approximately half an hour, after which the more enjoyable ‘pampering’ part of the treatment begins! Once the facial needles are out we start the natural hydrating and healing part of the treatment by applying a high quality Hyaluronic acid serum with Pantothenic acid (B5).
Hyaluronic acid is extremely gentle and is naturally present in the skin as part of the extracellular matrix and a component of collagen. Applying it to the face after needling greatly improves absorption and due to its massive hydrating capacity provides additional moisture which works to plump out and smooth the wrinkles. Pantothenic acid is widely known for its wound healing properties as it aids in the production of lipoproteins of the skin and quickens its healing time.
Step 6 - Facial Massage
After the application and full absorption of the post needling serum we carry out a full facial enhancement acupressure massage. This is a great way to relax and to boost the needle treatment. Facial massage has also for a long time, been recognised as a way of delaying the ageing process and improving the facial appearance. We use a high quality natural anti inflammatory cream with Vitamin E for the facial massage.
Step 7 - Jade Luxury
The next stage of the treatment is Jade rollering which adds an element of pure luxury to the to your treatment. For many centuries Jade was considered to be of supernatural origin and to contain the essence of life, virtue and eternity. A huge benefit of using the Jade rollers is that as a 'side effect' many patients find that sinus problems they have been suffering from are diminished. Not only that, but also the rolling action aids lymphatic drainage results in the body expelling any build up of toxins which has a positive effect on overall health.
The treatment ends with the application of a high quality moisturizer to the face. We use Retinol Cream for Day & Night by Poppy Austin which is a cruelty free 71% organic and vegan formulation Made with a delicate infusion of 2.5% active retinol which feeds the skin with an optimal dose of nutrients and stimulates the production of collagen and skin cell renewal.
Finally we remove the body needles and that’s it! We leave you to relax for a while as you have received a lot of intensive treatment. Your skin will look more vibrant but you will be able to appreciate the effects more fully within a few hours once your face has completely settled down.
